The New DogtorJ.com is done! Yes, the time has finally come for this homemade Website to go the way of the buffalo. I know that you all join me in looking forward to using a site that is better organized and more accessible....prettier, too! I've even corrected most of those annoying typos (I hope).

Feel free to check it out now at www.dogtorj.com. I am still working hard to populate all of the pages so don't worry if a link does not work. They should all be active in the near future. In the meantime, this current site will remain on-line until I get all of the bugs worked out.

Let me know what you think! It's not too late to make some changes.

* Who is Dogtor J.?- There were a number of years in the past when I hid my true identity. I used to come across posts on various Internet forums mentioning this site and which intimated that the information I provide must be of question since I had hidden my identity.

The latter statements played a role in what has prompted me to reveal my name, as I would not want anyone to turn away from this important issue just because the provider wouldn't give up his privacy.

But the reasons for remaining anonymous were much more complex than simple privacy. I will not go into them now because they are no longer relevant. Simply know that I had good reasons (which many of you already understand due to the "controversial" nature of my message).

So, here ya' go- "Who is DogtorJ???"

Who is  Dogtor J. ???

So, here ya' go: "Who is DogtorJ???"

Yes, Dogtor J is a real person, a real veterinarian with 29 years of practice experience, and I am married with two children and lots of cats and dogs. A full bio is coming very soon.

The frenetic phase of my medical research came to an end as of early 2007. The book is coming and I have done a number of speaking engagements and local TV appearances. I continue to read medical information every single day but it is at a much more leisurely pace, cataloging it into the framework that the last 7 years has provided. Medicine now makes sense, which it did NOT before I began this journey. In fact, it makes so much sense that every day is like Bill Murray's Groundhog Day, as I awaken to another day of knowing something and trying to affect change in and around me.

So, I am ready to put to rest the "Zorro" phase of my Internet life...a name that some of my "clients" have used. I had to laugh the first time I read that. But in a way, that's how I felt for the past few years- fighting misconceptions and deceptions and trying to help pets... and their owners...without them knowing who I am. But the idea of anonymity was also fueled by my total lack of desire to become well-known.

I needed my privacy to be able to function efficiently but I also found fame totally undesirable. I never wanted to be a successful Hollywood actor or political personality but now I see the value in that position. They can change things, with their fame and contributions, both in time and money.

The fact is that I give God all of the glory for the wisdom and truths found on this site. Before my "revelation", I feel that I knew a big nothing. I was just like most of the doctors and veterinarians who people write to me to complain about nearly every day, parroting out what I had learned in medical school and not being able to think beyond the words "idiopathic" or "genetic".

My only true advantage is my belief in God and the calling He has put on my life to seek His face...His will...His wisdom. I know that this statement will turn many readers off because I have received letters to that effect, complaining of the lack of separation of "church and state". But this is the truth.

Once I started praying FOR truth and AGAINST deception then answers started coming. I began every day with that simple prayer...I wanted THE TRUTH. I was tired of being deceived by the world and all of its players. I finally took the story of Solomon to heart and earnestly sought WISDOM. I turned from all that I knew was wrong and chased God. Anyone can do this and, man, what an amazing journey this has been

So, who is Dogtor J.???

My name is John...John B. Symes, DVM...an ordinary man who, by the grace of God (which is what the name "John" refers to), finally answered the call that all of us have received at one point or another. In retrospect, it is incredible that it has taken this long.

But God had a plan for my life just as He has for everyone reading these words. Amazingly, it involved years of preparation and life experiences to allow me to be able to completely identify with the afflicted. Many of you have read my story and now know all that I have experienced a myriad of symptoms including life-threatening depression. I have been to the abyss and looked deep into it, staring death in the eyes. There I gained my empathy.

But now I see that so much of our bodily suffering is needless...from a medical point of view. Whether that suffering is necessary for other reasons remains to be seen by those experiencing it. If my life has taught me anything, it is that there is a reason for "the fire". And I now stand with the Apostle Paul and shout "Count it all joy!" Today's illness may be your next mission in life.

There you have it. My name: John B. Symes, D.V.M. I graduated from Auburn University in 1979, receiving the Upjohn Award as outstanding senior in small animal medicine. I did an (optional) internship at Angell Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston and have practiced small animal medicine ever since. My personal medical woes began years and years ago and can all be explained by the celiac disease (and other food intolerances) that I was finally made aware of in 2000, at age 47. This awareness led to nearly everything you read on this site.

I truly hope that your knowing my identity adds some dimension of credibility that has apparently been lacking during my time of anonymity. As you see, I am no high-powered academician with lots of alphabet soup after his name. I am simply a seeker of answers...a chaser of Truth...a person that any of you could be if you were so motivated. All you have to do is answer the call.

To God be all of the Glory,

John

Great Uncle John with Abby Grace

I hope you enjoyed your time here and got something important from your stay. It is my goal to help all of mankind navigate through the jungle of medical information now available on the Internet and find the truth about the origins of what we call "disease" as well as discover the natural solutions for these conditions.

We do have our health's destiny in our own hands more than we've ever imagined, certainly more than most have ever been told. Think naturally and the answer will come.

would still like to hear from you personally, though.

I used to have a nice little form in this space that would allow readers to send me a quick comment or testimonial. Unfortunately, as the Interent goes, I started getting 50-100 junk emails through this form and had to remove it.

So, until the new Website is up and running (soon!), I will have to ask people to formulate an Email of their own and send it. I do want to hear from you so I would really appreciate it if you could take the time to do this.

Simply title your Email "Visitor Comment" and include your name, occupationcomment/testimonial and return Email address (if you want to be contacted) and send it to:

dogtorj @ dogtorj.com (Just remove the spaces on each side of the @ sign)

Please do not use this form to ask medical questions. See the Contact section for instructions for sending DogtorJ an Email inquiry concerning a medical condition.

Great News!

DogtorJ.com will be getting a major facelift in the very near future. Yes, the time has finally come for this homemade Website to be taken over by someone who actually knows what they are doing. I know that you all join me in looking forward to having the site better organized and more accessible. It'll be prettier, too!

This is taking place for a number of reasons, the most of important of which will be revealed in the upcoming months. Yes, the book is finally in the works but there will be a major awareness project to go along with it.

So, please stay tuned. Anyone who would like to get on my mailing list can do so by simply using the visitor's comment area (like the one above) found at the bottom of each page.

Onward and upward!
